two-color top

Can you believe it's September already? Summer passed by like in a blink of an eye. It's not that I don't like fall, as a matter of fact it's my favorite Minnesotan season, it's only what comes after scares me : considering that geese started to fly away some time ago we may have an early winter. urgh!

But let's not allow chilly thoughts to come over us, better enjoy this beautiful fall. Minnesota has so much to offer for the season: State Fair, Renaissance Festival, trips to apple orchards and up North to take in the fall colors.

We usually wait until October to go our favorite apple orchard (Pine Tree Apple Orchard) but as we had no plans to go out of the Twin Cities on Labor Day weekend, we decided to take advantage of the sunny days and spend as much time outside. So why not even take a trip to the ochard?

A reason for me to wear my newest top. I've been going only for easy projects lately and this two-color top is no exception.

Cut two same or matching color fabric rectangulars and folow the steps below:
1. cut out small triangles from the top corners and shape the neck line. Do this step on both front and back.
2. sew the front and back together along the blue lines.

Last step is to finish the raw edges, fold hem inside and stitch it. All done!

These are my boys walking back to mom :)
Victor is a big adventurer, conquering every corner of the house. He learned how to climb the stairs and the upstairs is now way more interesting than the downstairs (where most of his toys are). Installing a gate will be the next thing to do though I enjoy seeing him so happy when taking the stairs and when getting on top. I hate to take this away from him.
