my green side

When I bought this white and green leaf motif fabric I had no idea that, by the time I would turn it into a garment, saying "I'm green" would mean more than wearing this dress. It would also reflect my new status as a green card owner.
Imagine my double pride when being able to say that I tailored my first dress and moreover because my residence permit was finally approved. Yuppie! :)

I was thinking of another dress when I chose this fabric but there are so many nice dresses on Burdastyle, my inspiration website where I take the patterns from, that I changed my mind on the last minute.

It was only after I had cut the fabric and started reading the instructions that I realized something was fishy :) This dress had a higher degree of complexity than I was used to and I had jumped from my novice level to a complex project.
But challenges don't intimidate me so I continued reading the instructions till it became crystal clear: I couldn't figure them out.

I discovered, but only at the very end, when reading the experiences of the others, that I wasn't the only one who found the instructions unclear, it was a general thing. It made me feel better :)

I continued with no guidance at all, let myself driven by intuition.
I am very happy with the result, it is not perfect (looking back, there are details I would do differently), but I do like my green dress and I can hardly wait for the warm weather to wear it.
